I am now back from two weeks off, I have found some great sites to list here and also have a selection of great new resources to upload over the coming weeks.
Recently I have been in contact with Tim from Teachshare, his website offers a great selection of free resources for Secondary Education and very useful links. The website is completely free with no subscription costs, I recommend this site and think it is well worth a visit
TeachShare.org - The Community Curriculum Project
TeachShare offer free teaching resources. Teachers from all over the world are donating their resources to build the project. The ultimate aim is to provide complete sets of all the files needed to deliver every major course in the UK, Canada, the United States and Australia. TeachShare also has a directory of the other best teaching resources sites on the web.
Booruch
Through Twitter I recently met David Noble a Chartered Teacher living in Fife. In early 2006 he was inspired by Ewan McIntosh to use new technologies to attempt to develop his teaching practice and participate in online educator communities. He runs The Access Network and a podcast directory, as well as collaborating on EdTechRoundup and providing CPD to educators - http://tinyurl.com/6q86zz.
His fortnightly education technology podcast, Booruch has, since January 2006: broadcast David's reflections on web 2.0 in education, highlighted good practice from around the world, and encouraged communication and collaboration among educators. Several of the episodes feature interviews with innovative practitioners.
I would highly recommend Twitter it has put me in contact with very interesting people, it was great to make contact with David especially as like me he teaches in Scotland and it is inspiring to hear how web 2.0 has impacted on his career. I would recommend taking some time to visit David’s websites.
Tuxpaint
I love this download and I am happy I could download it for my mac. If you have some free time I think you should download this and enjoy!
"Tux Paint is a free, award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12 (for example, preschool and K-6 in the US, key stages 1 & 2 in the UK). It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program.

Soungle
If you are looking for sounds – soungle is the place to visit it is easy and free to use.
"Soungle is a free site, developed by Southern Codes, for finding all kind of sound FX and musical instruments samples on our mega online library. As different from most of similar sites, Soungle is NOT a Web search engine. It only searches in our growing monster database. Our goals are to keep it simple to use (search, preview and download) and to keep it free."
Cheekymonkeyresources
Cheekymonkeyresources have a fantastic page listing music to suit different topics for Primary Education….a fab resource to save you time trawling the net for music.
In the future I will list more websites to help save precious time, if you have a website that you think would be relevant (especially if it has free and useful resources) and would like to see it mentioned in my blog, please email me and I will try to help. I am also happy to mention Educational websites on my weblinks page.
Thanks to Tim from Teachshare.org for the information on his site and also thanks to David for taking the time to email re Just-Teaching, I wish him well with the next podcast.
